Delta Dental’s MAXAdvantage? benefit option encourages members to take full advantage of their preventive care benefits. By waiving the reductions to the plan year maximum benefit amount for some diagnostic and preventive services, members are more likely to schedule their routine exams.

Members often choose to reserve their annual allowance amount for possible treatments that may arise during the plan year, rather than schedule their routine, preventive care exams. When they know they can get their preventive care and still have access to their full annual maximum amount for other needs, they have no excuse not to receive their regular check-ups and preventive care.

This optional benefit feature gives an advantage that may result in better oral healthcare, improved oral health and overall healthier employees.

• Services that are included and do not count toward the plan year maximum benefit amount:

• Routine and comprehensive dental exams, as well as periodontal exam

• X-rays, including complete series, periapical, intraoral, extraoral, bitewings and panoramic films

• Cleanings, including perio-maintenance cleaning

• Fluoride and fluoride varnishes
