COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug 9, 2021) … To help meet dental health needs of children and adults, Delta Dental of South Carolina – a leading dental benefits provider and a non-profit organization – has announced it is now accepting applications for the second cycle of its 2021 Oral Health Grant Program. This grant funding is designed to support oral health initiatives, educational programs and charitable causes throughout the state – including those in rural communities. Organizations from communities deemed to be dental shortage areas due to a lack of dental care providers are strongly encouraged to apply.

“We’re continually working to expand the reach of our grant funding program to help people of all ages access vital dental care and educational services, so they can live better lives through improved dental health,” said Rob Goren, president and chief executive officer at Delta Dental of South Carolina. “We encourage organizations, which align with our mission to improve oral health, to apply for this available funding. Together, we can help improve the quality of life across our state, especially for our neighbors in need.”

Delta Dental of South Carolina’s Charitable Giving Committee evaluates each grant application from eligible organizations and determines the initiatives to be awarded funding. Objectives of the program include:

  • Reducing oral disease through education, prevention and treatment
  • Ensuring access to affordable, timely and high-quality dental care
  • Enhancing the awareness of good oral health with a focus on children and individuals in need
  • Making a measurable difference in the oral health of South Carolinians
  • Helping to ensure South Carolina is among the states with the highest indicators of oral health.
